I sincerely hope Jono that "hatred of Australian Jews" is not being translated into what is probably the reality for many people such as myself who believe. The attitude of the Israeli to the Palestinian is becoming a second form of genocide, with this last 35 years being the Arab Muslim's term of Auschwitz. The address has changed, the methods have changed but the killing, starving, humiliation for the dignity of man, continues unabated. This time it is not Hitler - this time he is reborn under another Government! Of a people so fresh themselves from how it feels to endure the same pain and suffering they now inflict on others. For every one Jewish person killed there are 100 Arabs....and although they are of different tribes, they are of the same ethnic backgrounds!
How would the Jewish Community of Glen Eira and Port Phillip, not to mention the rest of us atheists and any other religious group feel should the indigenous aboriginal rise up against us and fight for his land back after 200 years, not to mention 3000 years!!! I would be pretty upset and non accommodating too! I genuinely believe the weapons manufacturers have a vested interest to ensure the killing, bombing, maiming continues!....It pains me that man learns that killing achieves nothing except misery be it Jew, Arab or Gentile!!!

It must have taken you quite some time to come up with all that spiteful invective. While you may not agree with a person's point of view, everyone is entitled to respect as a person.
Israelis and Palastinians are ethnic brothers and it is about time the the "children of Israel" (of both religious persuasions) grew up and stopped behaving like spoiled brats. Even a general perusal of history shows that spite, invective, hatred, physical violence and murder are not answers to life's problems. You cannot bash a man into agreeing with you, especially when you both think revenge is so much more important than peace. Don't either the Jews or Muslims love their children enough to want them to live in peace rather than die for politics?
Jono, standing outside and looking into the conflict one has to ask, how much longer the killings on both sides continue. Like kids in a kindergarten not getting their own way, they bomb, maim, and cry foul of each other! and humiliate the very religions they seek to promote.
The Jews use sophisticated weaponry against a mostly defenseless people, who throw stones and rocks. The Jewish army is more than a match for those who have only their bodies left to make their point!

As for the Aboriginals who knows at what point they'll become militant? 5 or 50 years? If they listen to their African & Maori brothers who refused to be kicked in the teeth by those who felt superior to them.
