European cowards oppose freedom of speech.

Freedom of speech is unarguably one of the most important liberties in any society. When governments decide to outsource their authority to multinational bodies like the European Union,(or even worse the U.N) people's freedoms will eventually be disregarded as every aspect of life is regulated and controlled by power-hungry bureaucrats working for a centralised authority. Looks like Europe will soon have their freedom of speech curtailed in much the same way we Victorians have experienced under Steve Bracks ridiculous anti-blasphemy laws.

In an interview with Britain’s Daily Telegraph, EU Justice and Security Commissioner Franco Frattini said the charter would encourage the media to show “prudence” when covering religion.

“The press will give the Muslim world the message: We are aware of the consequences of exercising the right of free expression,” he told the newspaper. “We can and we are ready to self-regulate that right.”
